weekend recap!

This weekend was not as I expected it would be, but man was it great! Originally I thought I was going to be working an event Saturday night but turns out that I didn't have to.

With that great news, I was out of the office by 1:30 on Friday and decided to head to good ol' Walford (for many reasons, the main one being I forgot a few pairs of dress pants).

On my way home, I decided to call Jason and tell him I'd be in Walford. He was in Osceola for the weekend.

Saturday we "met in the middle" for an afternoon in the big city of Newton, Iowa. That place is exciting, let me tell you! We hit up Goodwill where I got a $6 frame for an upcoming project. We then went to another thrift store, followed by the antique store (practically a shit shop), as I am looking for cheap decor/craft ideas.

Jason had never been a Dollar Tree before so of course we went there. Got seven things for $7. Lovely. Some of them were these:

So cute! The wonderful Christmas tree is next! Yay!

I made it back home to Walford in time for church with my parents which was very refreshing. I hadn't been back in a while and it was much needed. Not to mention, the priest did a baptism and he always takes the baby to the front of the congregation and holds him/her up like Lion King and shows the "new parishioner" off to everyone. Anyway, I also ran into Beth and Kelly - two ladies who were a huge part of me growing in my faith during my middle school/early high school days. They're both GREAT people!

We then went to my brother's house and decided to all go to Red Lobster for dinner. That place never disappoints. And the waiter was the best I have ever had. If Justin from the Red Lobster on Collins Road ever reads this, I am talking about you.

This morning mom and I went to buy a dining room table and chairs for my apartment. Small and cute. The place is coming together with home decor and extra fun touches. I'll probably show it off soon!

With all that said, time to relax.... in my tribal leggings.
