Jason and I went to a comedy club on Friday night to enjoy some improv. Nothing like a night of laughter and drinks. :)
So, you may have seen my tweet about waking up in a panic on Saturday morning when I saw that I had 2 missed calls, a missed text and an email - all from my mom. And she had called Jason. Oh, and I had a missed call from my dad.
First thought was... oh my gosh, what happened? Who died?
(It's terrible that I thought of that, but when it's early in the morning and your parents have been trying to get a hold of you for an hour, it just kinda came to mind)
So I called back.
IT'S BECAUSE THEY WANTED JASON AND I TO GO TO THE WISCONSIN VS. IOWA BASKETBALL GAME AND IT WAS AT 11AM. My parents have had tickets for a while so they had always planned on going. But then a couple that they're friends with had something come up and they couldn't use their tickets so they asked my mom if she knew of anyone.
YEP. We took them off their hands no problemo! Not to mention the VIP parking pass. Score.
We jumped out of bed, hurried through our showers, stopped at McDonald's for breakfast on the road and threw some gas in my car. In 30 minutes flat, we were off to Iowa City. It's a good thing neither of us are high maintenance. I wouldn't have wanted to be woken up any other way. :)

Victory for Wisconsin!
Alright, alright... I just couldn't get enough.
And then Sunday afternoon, while sitting around, Jason and I decided that I was going to get out random (and somewhat old) ingredients and he was going to try and make something out of it. If you've ever watched Chopped on the Food Network, that was our inspiration.
So I got out some coleslaw that was expiring, a few mushy clementines, a can of tuna and the ever-so-tasty almonds. I could've been a lot meaner with ingredients... but didn't want to waste good food. So what did we get?
Fried tuna/cabbage/almond cakes (like crab cakes) with a little bit of clementine juice, cinnamon, and strips of potato.

And here it is! Definitely not too tasty but it wasn't too terrible. We each had a bit before throwing it out!
